Letter to the Carmel Catholic Community

Dear Carmel Catholic Families,

 

Every year I set mid-July as a goal to write you a summer update letter. It is hard to believe that we are at that point in the intercession! I hope that you are finding time to spend together doing what your family most enjoys. A few of our new families have been in over these past weeks and they already exhibit “Carmel fever.” Their enthusiasm is palpable!

 

As we anticipate the start of the new school year, we have a long-range item to share with you as well as innovative things to look forward in the short term.

 

We look forward to celebrating “Carmel turns 50” in 2012. To those ends, an anniversary steering committee has been at work since last May. Our celebration will begin in the fall of 2011 and will end in the fall of 2012. Listed below are the committee chairpersons and the area which he/she is working on. Do you have a smart phone? Good news- Carmel Catholic will have an app ready for download in the new school year! Our talented technology staff and web coordinator are hard at work developing an app which will give you up-to-date news including calendars, cancellations and all of the information you need to be connected with us. Stay tuned for further developments and the announcement when it will be available.

 

The remaining classrooms that did not have projection systems are currently being retrofitted to house new equipment. All classrooms will have the capability to connect wirelessly to the tablet personal computers which will be in the teachers’ possession in approximately two weeks. Each teacher will have a plethora of new ways to deliver instruction!

 

A special thank-you is extended to our maintenance staff who is working diligently to ensure that our facilities are repaired and shiny for your return to campus in a few weeks. As always, their work is exemplary and appreciated by all of us!
